What a great start to the new year. The children are fully immersed in our new topic ‘Toys and Us!’ and are working hard. We are especially enjoying our themed days. Last week we brought in our favourite toys and this week our favourite teddy bears. What will it be next week? We can’t wait!

We also had a visitor who brought in a very old teddy bear and we were able to develop our questioning skills. Thank you Mrs Hewitt!

Christmas Homework

During the Christmas holidays, your teachers would like you to:

  • Spend time with your family and friends.

  • Do the things that you enjoy.

  • Eat the food that you love.

  • Watch a Christmas film.

  • Play a game.

  • Make somebody laugh or smile.

  • Do something nice for somebody else.

  • Play with your toys.

And finally…

Come back to school ready to learn!

Have a lovely Christmas and we’ll see you in 2018!

A massive well done to the whole of Acorn Class and Key Stage One for their amazing Christmas Nativity! The children (and adults!) worked so hard to put on a superb performance. Congratulations to all involved.

We were very lucky to have a visit today from the author Tim Milner and illustrator Tania Sneesby. We really enjoyed their story ‘Where’s My Hug?’ We even got to see Tania’s stitched story boards and characters. We were inspired! Thank you to our visitors.

We are incredibly proud of the children. We think you’ll agree that our Christingle Church service was amazing. The children were well behaved, knew when to move and sang beautifully! What a fantastic start to the Christmas season.

As part of the infant Christmas production of ’Lights, Camel, Action!’ our class, along with singing many of the other songs, will be singing ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ on our own. Please could you practice singing this song at home with your child.

We also need your child to have a black outfit consisting of a black top, black trousers/leggings, black socks and black pumps. Please could we have these in school by Friday 8th December, at the latest, in a named carrier bag.

Please let us know if any of the above pose any problems for you.

Thank you once again for your support,

EYFS Team

The classrooms are now ready for Decoration Day. The day when the children in school are all mixed up and sent around the classrooms to make Christmas Decorations. These decorations are then used to decorate the school. We can’t wait! We will all be dressed up in Christmas outfits and ready to sing many Festive songs as we create. So get your outfits ready and don’t forget to bring a chocolate item or a bottle as a donation for the Christmas Fair next Friday.

An early night may be needed!

We’ve had a fantastic day today. We started off by arriving at school in our own clothing choice before some of us had spots painted on our faces. We purchased Pudsey Bracelets and took part in some related activities. We raised lots of money for the charity and even got to present the cheque to the real Pudsey Bear at the end of the day!

Who is hugging Pudsey?
