We held the grand opening of our new running track on Wednesday.

Even when our legs were tired we never gave up! It was a great afternoon and it was lovely to see so many parents turn up to celebrate our achievements. We received a certificate which recorded how many laps we completed so that we can start to collect our sponsorship money.

After sharing the story ‘Stone Soup’ and completing lots of related activities, we decided to make our very own! We washed, peeled and chopped all the vegetables. Some children even brought in their own to add to the mix. We really enjoyed sharing our very own soup!

As part of our learning on growth and change, we were very lucky to have a visitor yesterday. Baby Theo was only 6 days old when we got to meet him and ask his mum questions. He didn’t cry or even wake up!

Our questioning skills improved throughout the visit and we learnt a lot about babies.

Thank you Mrs Nicks and baby Theo!

Did you see us? Did you hear us?

We went on a local walk to look at the house and find 2D shapes.

You could test us when we are out and about, or even at home. Can we identify shapes? Can we name shapes? Can we talk about shapes?

Paddington Bear is visiting from Peru. He wants to find out about life in the United Kingdom. He hopes to visit you this weekend and find out all about British families and British values, so take him with you wherever you go and let us know what he gets up to.

These are some of the values he is looking for:

  • We are polite and use good manners

  • We are helpful

  • We are respectful to each other

  • We share festivals to celebrate our community

  • We listen to each other

  • We treat each other equally

  • We are fair when we play and share

  • We care about our family and help at home

  • We do things as part of our community

  • We make friends and build friendships

  • We care for our environment and wildlife

  • We say please and thank you

  • We know right from wrong

  • We take turns and include others

Please write about what your adventures this weekend, include photos or drawings if you can, then return him with this book to class on MONDAY.

Running Track

Wow!

We used the new running track again today and Acorn Class embraced the opportunity to show their perseverance skills and tried their very best.

Remember 8 laps is 1 mile!

Although we are really proud of them all we would particularly like to mention:

Georgia who achieved 4 laps last week and improved on that this week by covering 6 laps!

Clare RAN for 6 laps!

Felix Fish and George kept on going despite loosing count!

Hollie kept on going and then came back to run some more later on!

Hamish and Theo who raced around until they were out of breath!

Carmi who showed quite a burst of speed!

We will be completing our Runathon on Wednesday 11th October in the afternoon as we have the grand opening of our new running track. Don’t forget to keep collecting sponsors.
